Hello! I’m Jayant Arora, a 19 year old student studying Computer Science at the University of Toronto. I am very passionate about getting hands-on learning opportunities in STEM & the software development field. Currently, I'm researching Artificial Intelligence, specifically working with Generative Adversarial Networks. You can see more about this in the portfolio section!

Building a Number Plate Detector with OpenCV

This is an article explaining a project I replicated - detecting and saving car number plates from live or pre-saved photo/videos.

Nema - Moonshot Project

Our idea is to genetically engineer nematodes to have the ability to decompose plastic. This is done by replacing a non-coded intron in a germline gene with the Ideonella Sakaiensis bacteria. After pitching our company and idea to incredible judges, we were able to win The X Award for the most impactful idea!

CNT Neurology Hackathon - 2021 Winners

In this hackathon, I worked with Jim Schwoebel and Pamel Kang to develop a diagnosis method for Alzheimer's Disease using eye movement/tracking as a biomarker! Fortunately, we came in first place!

I got the opportunity to work with Instacart by building a recommendation deck regarding ways they could improve their customer service and overall customer experience. A few friends and I spent weeks researching and gathering information about Instacart’s current practices, brainstorming new ideas for them, talking to executives, and developed a final recommendation!

Play the Chrome Dino game just by blinking

I used several resources to develop a BCI system which performs an action when the user blinks their eyes. Every time I blinked, the dinosaur on the screen jumped over the obstacles present. This article explains how I did it and includes a demo video.
